Understanding
high IQ and unmasking
neurodiversity
Just be yourself…
…they say.
It’s so easy for them, but so hard for you.
It’s actually impossible.
You can’t be yourself as you truly are.
You can’t be honest, and certainly not authentic.
As an introvert, you have to act like an extrovert.
With a high IQ, you have to restrain yourself.
Being highly sensitive, you have to toughen up and be more robust.
You have to hide your neurodiversity and appear ‘normal’.
So you wear a mask – in your job, and in private.
And it makes you feel like an impostor.
All your life you have been masking.
Masking who and how you really are, to function among others.
